Toeroek Associates, Inc. (Toeroek), is a growing small business headquartered in Colorado that provides top-quality specialized support services to the Federal Government. We are looking for an  Project Acquisition Specialist I to be to be located in Lorton, Virginia. 

The Project Acquisition Specialist I provides advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR)Chemical Weapons Destruction (CWD) Program.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Acquisition aspects of program and project planning and analytical activities.
  • Leverage familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the DTRA's process for Acquisition programs and the various program reviews required for Acquisition approval.
  • Prepare acquisition milestone program documentation (e.g., SOO, SOW, WBS, Market Research Report) to support milestone decisions and ultimately, award of contract or interagency order.
  • Assist Government with contract execution, to include assessing and tracking risks and propose mitigation strategies associated with those risks/issues.
  • Track and monitor unresourced requirements, contract expenditures/unliquidated obligations and conduct contract closeout activities.
  • Provide staff action management, analytical support and coordination.
  • Assist with program and project strategic communication, long-range strategic project planning and analysis to include Program Objective Memorandum development and budget planning.
  • Maintain ability to travel overseas as much as 25 percent of the time.


Required Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university
  • 3 - 5 years of demonstrable experience in program management, project management, DoD acquisition, or Government contracting
  • Must have DoD Secret clearance
  • Current and valid U.S. Passport
  • Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, and communications skills are required

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited university in an area related to project management, program management, or science
  • Familiarity with U.S. government efforts in chemical weapons destruction and/or CBRNE
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credential
